🧱 Structure and Form Family
“How to build strong sentences”
✅ Why do we need it?
Without proper structure, even great vocabulary doesn’t make sense. Think of trying to build a LEGO car with all the pieces in the wrong order—it won’t roll, it won’t look right, and no one will know what you made.
This grammar family is the blueprint for sentences. It helps you:
-
Put words in the right order
-
Connect words properly (subjects, verbs, objects, etc.)
-
Know when to use auxiliaries, negations, and punctuation
It helps people understand you clearly—whether you're asking a question, giving instructions, or writing a message.
⚙️ How does it work?
Think in layers:
-
Word Order Rules (especially Subject + Verb + Object)
→ “She eats apples.” (✅) vs. “Eats she apples.” (🚫) -
Question Structures
→ “Do you like it?” vs. “You do like it?” -
Negatives
→ “He doesn’t know” vs. “He no know” -
Commands and Instructions
→ “Please sit down.” (Correct structure is often just the verb.) -
Agreement and Matching
→ Subjects and verbs must agree:
“He runs.” / “They run.”
This family includes:
-
Sentence Types (statements, questions, commands)
-
Basic parts of speech placement
-
Simple sentence formulas:
-
S + V + O
-
Aux + S + V (for questions)
-
S + do/does + not + V (for negation)
-

🎯 When do we use this?
-
Asking clear questions
-
Writing well-formed emails or paragraphs
-
Avoiding misunderstandings in speech
-
Giving instructions and directions
🧠 Tip for Learners:
Build your sentence like a LEGO tower:
-
Bottom = subject
-
Middle = verb
-
Top = rest of the sentence
